The Hardwick Police Department located in the Municpal Building has been closed. The Police Department has been relocated to the New Braintree Town Hall, 20 Memorial Drive, New Braintree. FID and LTC processing will now occur at the new loaction.

Police Clerk's Hours
Monday, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Wednesday, 2 - 4 p.m.

LTC / FID Permits
LTC/FID application must be done in person.
Anyone renewing a license should plan on coming in 3-6 months prior to the expiration of the license.

Please bring:
$100.00 cash or check
If renewing, bring your old FID/LTC card
Driverís License

No handwritten application is needed Ė itís all computerized.

New LTC applicants must have a copy of their Handgun Safety course certificate.
New FID Applicants must have a copy of their Basic Hunter Safety course card.

Evening appointments are Wednesday’s from 4-7 pm please call (413) 477-6708 x116 or KLandine@townofhardwick.com to schedule an appointment. No walk-ins will be allowed.

We will post on our Facebook account and at the police station one Saturday a month open hours for walk-in applications. During the Saturday times no appointment is needed; it will alternate between the Hardwick and New Braintree Stations.

Any LTC/FID questions should be posed to Lieutenant Landine.

Accident Forms
If you are involved in a motor vehicle crash, you must report it to the police department immediately and you must submit an accident report to the Police Department and the Registry of Motor Vehicles within five days.
Mail or Deliver one copy to the local police department in the city or town where the crash occurred. Mail one copy to your insurance agency. Mail one copy to the RMV. Click here to download the form.

Citizen Complaint Process
The goal of the Hardwick / New Braintree Police Department is to improve the quality of services provided, to promote a high level of public confidence, and to enhance and maintain the professional integrity of the Police Department. A formal procedure to receive, document, and investigate all citizen complaints allows the Hardwick / New Braintree Police Department to monitor and enforce standards.
