Administrative Assistant to Town Administrator/Select Board
The town of Hardwick is seeking qualified candidates to perform high-level secretarial, clerical, and administrative work assisting the Town Administrator and Select Board. This is a non-benefited, part-time 19 hours per week position. Salary: $18.47 – $20.59/hour DOQ
General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities: To work under the supervision of the Town Administrator on day-to-day office functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs general constituent services such as answering the office telephone and assisting people who visit the Executive Office; prepares meeting materials for the Select Board, administration of department issued permits and licenses; processing of insurance matters, AP/AR.
Additional Notes: Candidates should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Associate’s degree in public or business administration preferred, a minimum of three to five years of office experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with municipal procedures, Open Meeting Law, and the grant application process preferred, but not required.

Highway Working Foreman
The Hardwick Board of Selectmen is seeking qualified applicants to fill the full-time Highway Working Foreman position for the Hardwick Highway Department. The purpose of this position is to provide direct in-field supervision of employees working on all phases of Highway Department construction, maintenance, repair operations and performs all other related work as required. Repairing heavy equipment and large trucks is essential to the position. The Highway Working Foreman is responsible for maintain and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under his/her control as delegated by the Highway Superintendent.
Applicants must have a minimum of (5) years experience in highway/roadway maintenance and construction, including heavy equipment operation and field supervision. Applicants must possess a valid C.D.L. Class B License with airbrake endorsement (C.D.L. Class A License is preferred) and a valid Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer License Class 2A.
