Finance Committee

The Town of Hardwick is seeking registered voters to serve on the Town’s Finance Committee. The Finance Committee is the principal financial advisor to the Town Meeting and is a deliberative, rather than a decision-making body. Finance Committee responsibilities are set forth in Massachusetts General Law Chapter 39, §16 and Town by-laws. The Finance Committee is also charged with managing the Town's appropriated Reserve Fund in which the Committee votes to disburse money from this fund, upon the request of the Board of Selectmen, when unforeseen or extraordinary events occur. The following are minimum requirements to apply for the position:

  • Shall not hold another appointed or elected position in the Town of Hardwick.
  • Possess good communication skills in working with the public.
  • Attention to detail, ability to follow direction and have good general PC skills.
  • Attend Finance Committee meetings throughout the year.
  • Accounting background is highly desirable but not a requirement.

Board of Health Clerk

Part-time; 2-3 days per week, 6-9 hours per week. Applications accepted up until the position is filled. Applicants should be available to interview within days after submitting their application and to start July 19. Click here for complete details.

Throughout the year different positions open up on Boards/Commissions and Committees and the Board of Selectmen is always looking for applicants who are interested in filling these vacancies.
