The Town Accountant is responsible for the administration of the town’s accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, financial statements and reports, cash and fund reconciliation, and fixed asset and general inventory control. The Town Accountant ensures that all transactions conform to Massachusetts General Laws and sound municipal accounting practices.

Full-Time Highway Department Laborer - Mower/Truck Driver
The duties of this laborer position are but not limited to mowing, trimming, and operating other light pieces of equipment along with highway trucks which include winter plowing. Will also perform manual work on construction, maintenance or repair projects of the Highway Department; along with all other related work as required and directed by the Superintendent of Streets. This is a 40-hour per week position with possible overtime, especially during the winter months.
Preferred candidate would have experience in mowing, trimming, highway/roadway maintenance and construction, including light equipment operation. Applicants must possess a valid Class B CDL License with airbrake endorsement and a valid Class 2A Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer License. Should an applicant without these licenses be considered, the individual must obtain the licenses within (6) six months of employment.

Part-Time Recycling Laborer
7 hours per week
Wednesday 8:45 am- 11:15 am and Saturday 7:45 am - 12:15 pm
$11.00 per hour, no benefits
Accept and sort recycling, electronic waste, and swap shed donations at the Hardwick Recycling Center Work involves outdoor physical activity year round including shovelling snow. Works under the supervision of the Recycling Coordinator. Valid Driver’s License is helpful.
